Julianna loves Dora The Explorer & mama needed an easy venue so we had a Dora birthday at one of our favorite spots Hula Hut!
The room at Hula Hut already has a Tropical/Mexican theme which really fits perfect with a Dora The Explorer party, so I just added some simple tissue paper centerpieces & Hawaiian flower confetti on the tables. The goal was to make it look like a Dora Luau!
I tried to add some Dora touches through out the party with big wooden cut outs I rented from an adorable Party planning business called Parties on the Porch. And then Parties on the Porch printed out some adorable printable's for me. I also had a chalk board poster made from Etsy with all of Julianna's 3 year old milestones.
On the welcome table I had a Dora book all the guests could sign. I also had Hawaiian lays they could put on and then I had a blank envelope for each guest to self address for a raffle drawing (doing this makes sending out Thank You cards so easy). On the table, I just sat around all of my beach themed nick-naks, sea shells, etc, & then I draped Dollar Store fish nets anywhere and everywhere.
One of the reasons we chose Hula Hut is because we LOVE the food there! It is one of our monthly favorites. We had them set up a fajita bar and then do quesadillas and fruit for the kids. It was all delicious!
We had the most adorable cake and cookies from the Sweet Life Cakery. The desserts always turn out amazing from there & they were Julianna approved.
I decided to keep this party pretty simple. I sat around Dora color pages for the kids to color and had bubbles for them to play with. Easy peasy...
Since this party was pretty relaxed. I decided to have a talented lady I met come do face painting & make balloon animals during the party. She was a hit and all of the kids loved her!
The Party favor bags looked like the "Back Pack"from Dora The Explorer. They were so cute! I just ordered some cute Dora themed goodies from Oriental Trading post & Berkley from Parties on the Porch put them together for me.
Every year I tell myself we are going to scale back and have a "kids only" party but then I end up going all out with a guest list of 50+. Although this may seem like a bad thing to my hubby (he thinks I turn every birthday party into a full blown event) haha But after each party as I look through the photos I can't help but feel overwhelmingly blessed with all of the friends and family the Lord has brought into our life. Thank you to the incredible village that has been apart of helping us raise our daughters. We are most certainly blessed with the best of the best FRAMILY.
I think it is safe to say the Birthday girl Julianna Faith had a wonderful 3rd Birthday. We love you so much baby Jewel. Your sweet spirit, big hugs & deep laugh are just a few of my favorite things about you. Thank you for completing our family.
