Girls trip to NYC!

June has been a wonderful month...

We celebrated birthdays (PaPa, Uncle Joey, YaYa & MiMi), our 8 year anniversary, Fathers Day and in the midst of it all I got to take a fun girls getaway to NYC! I have actually never been on a "girls trip" since having kids! John and I have taken a couple trips since having the girls, but I have never gone anywhere with my girlfriends. One of my sweet friends/adopted sisters/clients/adopted Auntie to my girls/ Kate decided to celebrate her Birthday in NYC. She invited me & another one of our friends to go with her to the big apple for some girls time.

This trip was an absolute BLAST. Kate is a good big or go home type of gal so of course she booked a big, fabulous suite, on the very top floor at the one and only Plaza hotel. I have wanted to stay at this hotel my entire life (well every since I watched Home Alone 2) lol And let me just say the fabulous Plaza Hotel did not disappoint. I don't think I had ever seen so many chandeliers in one suite!

Kate had already been in NYC for a week when I arrived but she so kindly saved all of the fun girly things to do for when I got there! I arrived at the hotel and was welcomed with an assortment of delicious macarons. After I stuffed my face we walked literally across the street to Central Park and we hopped on a horse and carriage for a 90 minute ride through the beautiful park. I would have to say exploring Central Park is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the city!

After our tour through the park we got all dolled up for dinner and dined at a yummy french restaurant called Le Cirque. For many years this landmark NYC restaurant was located at the Palace Hotel but in 2000 in moved to the Bloomberg building on East 58th St. We decided to completely embrace french cuisine and we did not hold back in sampling any of the delicacies. We tried some yummy cavier as well as some not so yummy foie gras. It was a fun experience and we left stuffed! We then decided to over indulge  with some dessert and we had our driver drop us off at Serendipity so we could enjoy some famous frozen hot chocolate and a few other treats.

The next day we went on a Gossip Girl tour! Although I have never even watched 1 episode of Gossip Girl I had a blast on the tour because it took us to some of the best/most famous spots in NYC. We started at the Palace hotel, hit up Dylans Candy Shop, Henri Bendels, The MET Museum, Guggenheim, Empire hotel, Central Park, Laduree, Grand Central Station and of course Blair's apartment, Nate's house, Constance & St Judes (You have to be a GG fan to understand the last 4 haha).

After the GG tour we got dressed up and had afternoon tea at the Plaza. It was so delicious and so much fun. That evening we went and saw the Broadway Wicked. Although I have seen that musical a few times I still enjoyed it as if it was my 1st time seeing it. Wicked is without a doubt my favorite Broadway Musical. It was also fun seeing Justin Guarini (from American Idol) play the part of Fiyero. After the show we did a little late night shopping on Times Square. New York City truly is the city that never sleeps. We shopped until almost 12am and the stores were still open!!!

Day #3 We started the day off with a subway ride to grab breakfast at Dean & Deluca. We then took the Subway to Canal Street for some shopping! We drove down to TriBeCa to have lunch at a cute little spot called Pecan and then we made a pit stop at Lauduree for more macrons (they have seriously the BEST macarons in NYC). And the birthday girl couldn't come to NYC and leave without a fabulous new handbag so we made a little Prada stop for a to die for red Prada bag!

That evening we took a tour of the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center) and witnessed the most spectacular view of the city. There is something about all the bright lights, cars, tall building, high energy and fast pace that I just love. I think I may be a city girl at heat ;)

We couldn't get enough of Central Park so we decided to have dinner  our very last night at one of the cutest landmark spots Leob Boathouse right in the middle of the park. We ate right by the window that over looked the lake and it truly was so picturesque. The environment was unbeatable although the food was not overly impressive. However I would definitely go there again just for that view!

We ended the night with some more macarons and a cheese and fruit platter up in our room. We then stayed up late watching chick flicks & chatting. What better way then to end a girls trip?!?! This was such an over the top trip & we made some wonderful memories that I will never ever forget! I can not wait until the next time the big city & I reunite

Until Next time...."Give my regards to Broadway, Remember me to Herald Square. Tell all the gang at Forty-Second Street That I will soon be there. Whisper of how I'm yearning. To mingle with the old time throng Give my regards to old Broadway And say that I'll be there e'er long"
