Thanksgiving in New York City 2013

This holiday season has just flown right by....

We have been on the go non-stop...well except for the 5 days we were iced in by 4 inches of ice (not snow)! It has been a wonderful season and I am wayyy behind in blogging so let me rewind and give you a little recap of our Thanksgiving in magical NYC.

This was the 3rd year we have spent Thanksgiving in New York City and we had such a wonderful time. Josselyn has spent every Thanksgiving of her little life the big apple and I am completely convinced that she was born to be a big city girl! Little Jewel got to experience her 1st airplane ride at 7 months old (Josse traveled to NYC at 3 months old!). Jewel was a little angel the whole trip. She just slept or dangled in the baby Ergo everywhere we went and when she was awake she was all smiles!

We stayed for 4 nights at the JW Marriott Essex House in Manhattan. We have stayed at this gorgeous hotel before and I LOVE it because it is right across the street from Central Park! Plus quite a few celebs live in the penthouse (ie Morgan Freeman) so you have to always keep your eyes pealed just in case one ends up in the elevator with you.

Our sweet friends the Arrington family are the ones who invite us to join them each year and they always make Thanksgiving Day a day to remember. It is a tradition for all of the guests to wake up thanksgiving morning and have a delicious brunch in the hotel restaurant (which they rent out). The hotel restaurant has long glass windows all along the wall so we can watch the parade live as it goes by.  Josse was in heaven the full 2 hours of the parade. She was perched on a window ledge and did not move the entire time. Her favorite thing about the parade was actually the "marching bands" she loved it when they would go by playing music. She would squeal at the top of her lungs, "the marching band is here the marching band is here".

After Thanksgiving lunch it is a Arrington tradition for everyone to go see the Radio City Rockettes. Josse loved every second of the show!!!! The whole experience was so magical to her and I just loved watching her wide eyed gaze. Our angel baby,Jewel, slept in John's lap for the entire show which was perfect! Thanksgiving day could not have been more perfect.

We spent the new few days being tourists in the big city! We enjoyed a horse & carriage ride along Central Park, we took the girls to FAO Schwarz, I shopped along Canal street, we saw the Broadway musical Annie which is now one of my very favorites and we ate at yummy China Grill.

We had such an amazing time with our girls and some of our dear friends! I can definitely say the Thanksgiving 2013 was one of the BEST yet. As the year comes to an end and I reevaluate my life; I am once again reminded that at the end of the day all that matters in life is my relationship with the Lord, my family & my friends. I am overwhelmingly blessed to have those 3 stable things in my life.
